Break-Neck Speed

Just finished work not too long ago (it's close to 11 on a Friday night) and headed back there again tomorrow and Sunday for some more fun. We have a huge deadline looming next Wednesday - details on that to come; get excited! - and so the hours we've been logging are pretty much non-stop. Working 7 days a week, taking a few breaks in between for things like eating (though, I can do that while I work), and sleeping (such a waste of 8 hours! Oh, who am I kidding - I've been sleeping 5 hours a night, max!). But it's all good. As I keep mentioning, I am really just happy. And it's been a long time since I could say that and truly mean it. I hope life continues to stay on the up and up, because I'm quite enjoying this feeling of contentment, even in the craziness. The good news about working so much is that I'm no longer the "new girl" in the office who knows no one. Colleagues have become like family, and I really enjoy their company. I'm excited for the day when we can actually hang out and get to know one another outside of the work setting.

Once things slow down (I pray things slow down), I have some fun and exciting things on my radar. I'm going to Cleveland this coming weekend for a friend's wedding, moving the following weekend, and then on July 17th, I'm headed back to NY for the first time since I left for a dear friend's anniversary party. I think it will be thrilling and strange at the same time to go back as a visitor. But I'm unbelievably excited - hoping to run Central Park, visit my old building, and get in a little shopping while I'm there. I'm also just ready to start enjoying summer, and my friends and family again. For the past three weeks since I've been working weekends, I've really lost all semblance of a life. Feeling a little out of sorts - no time for yoga, dance, writing or relaxation - and I am so ready to add more balance to my world soon. In reality, minus the two weeks I spent in Arizona, I've been moving at break-neck speed since S and I broke up. And even while in Arizona, I was so busy prepping for life here that I didn't really allow myself to relax. I'd allow it now ... if only I had the time!

On that note, the bed is calling my name (literally. I am so delirious that I actually hear it calling my name...). Bear with these horribly written, "so uneventful that I owe you each a prize for continuing to read" posts. I do have exciting things happening in my life too - just a little too soon to divulge (ha! And that, my friends, is called a cliffhanger...now I know, despite my boring posts, you'll be back!). Sweet dreams!

No worries! We'd be back without the cliffhanger. It says something when you can make "routine" interesting, right?! : ) Hope you're able to get some sleep & are refreshed for tomorrow!
